It’s finally here. After three years of sitting with this song, 1000 LIVES is officially out on all platforms. This track represents everything I’ve learned about turning pain into something beautiful.
The cover art says it all – looking up through autumn leaves, finding light even when everything around you is changing. That’s exactly what this song is about. Those moments when you realize you’ve survived something that felt impossible to survive.
Lyrically, this is my most personal release yet. It explores how a single experience can transform you so completely that you feel like you’ve lived multiple lifetimes. The verses move through different stages of healing – denial, anger, acceptance, and finally, something like peace.
The production builds on what we started with ELEPHANTS – that willingness to let songs be imperfect and human. Vladimir Ilishkin helped me create layers that support the emotional weight without making it pretty. Sometimes beauty comes from embracing the rough edges.
Musically, you can hear influences I usually keep buried. There’s some early Radiohead in the guitar work, hints of Jeff Buckley in the vocal delivery. But filtered through my own experience of what it means to rebuild yourself from nothing.
Recording this was intense. Every time I sang the chorus, I was transported back to 2019, to that apartment where I first wrote these words. But now they mean something different. Instead of a cry for help, they’ve become a declaration of strength.
The song follows this arc from desperation to determination. The bridge section represents that turning point where you stop asking why things happened and start asking what you can build from the pieces.
Working with Vladimir taught me about patience in the studio. We didn’t rush to capture perfect takes. Instead, we let each element find its natural place in the song. The final mix feels organic, like it grew rather than being constructed.
This track continues the sound I started exploring with ELEPHANTS – more raw, more willing to show the messy parts of being human. It’s indie rock that isn’t afraid to get uncomfortable.
